Before Pictures:
About a month ago, Daniel and I (and his parents) ripped up our nasty, dog-stained carpet and decided to paint the cement. This, of course, is only temporary. We do intend on replacing it with tile or wooden floors some day. We really just couldn't handle to pee smell anymore. Sorry to be so gross- but it was gross. I tell you it was hard work. Whew, I am still exhausted!
Then, over the past several weeks, Daniel and I painted our bedroom. If we would have had a weekend free, it would not have taken so long. However, we didn't- so, we had to use the weekdays. It's not fun to paint after work. Never again, I tell you, never again.
I am happy with my results, though. We used Benjamin Moore paint from Ace. We like it, except for the fact that both colors needed two coats. Maybe that's normal. Is it?
Now all we need are some window treatments (which I am clueless about) and something to hang above our bed. Any suggestions? Well, and of course, a (new) bedroom suite would be nice. But, not a need right now.
After Pictures:
P.S. Here's a picture from Thursday night after I found out I won G/T teacher of the year! Just got it.

beautiful room! i am impressed with you guys' work. i love your bedding!
looks great!!! What about a mirror or maybe a landscape above your bed????? again congrats on your award!!!!
1. Congrats on the award!! So deserving!
2. The room looks amazing!! Good job Megan and Daniel! Yes - when you buy higher grade paint like Benjamin Moore or Martha Stewart... you have to use two coats. Strange, because you pay more for it, but whatever. If you are looking for a media suite or your window treatments, I would suggest a mini-trip to San Marcos to the Pottery Barn outlet... it is incredible!!! We got so much stuff for nothing. It is worth the trip! :)
Your room looks great- what a great idea! Love your colors and bed- so so pretty!
Love you,T-
LOVED this post! I'm up for a good Loft run soon... I love painted and stained concrete... and WHAT is that teacher of the year thing? Tell us more. I'm so proud of you. I can't imagine someone else better suited to teach. *AND I love hearing all your newly.wed stories. Oh, and you do realize that a car is just like a purse. Let me clarify: Bigger the purse, the more stuff you put in it. Bigger the car, the (quicker) bebies come!!! So, my vote is get the car. ;) xo
